Miss Art of Teaching

I usually try to blog daily if not a few times a week. I have been preoccupied with: -Preparing for a 'Rock' colourful pathway by having a go first hand. -Going to Kmart, Target, Ikea and Bunnings. Purchasing items for myself and to make my teaching life easier. -Making resources for my Year 11 Visual Arts class. -Making decorations for my classroom: My classroom is waiting for me to work on it. I want to slowly change it to a turquoise theme. And I need to de-clutter!

I am dedicating this post to my best buddy/ ex-co-worker /mentor. On Tuesday, I drove up to visit my retired art teacher friend and spent a day catching up and talking about art. I also squeezed in the time to help her start a blog!  We taught together and share a class for two years before she left. She was the reason why my 'wellbeing' and passion for teaching just SHOT right up. This lady never stops exploring and my respect for her as a teacher and as a human being exceeds every living breath. What do teachers do in the school holidays? -Relax and c atch up with friends -Resist temptation to visit stores (JUST JOKING!) -Do school work For the last two days I have visited: -Kmart -Target -Big W -Kikki.K -Aldi -Typo  -Tk Maxx -and many more. I can't switch my teacher mind off and always seem to be considering what I can do to make my classroom look and function better. I'm a teacher who enjoys organisation. I also love working on my own living space.  I made an earring holder using a Kmart $6 storage grid. Shoes seem to be my latest obsession. Four new pairs came home with me. Wow... time flies! It is already the LAST day of Term 2. Students were eager to 'paint' and help in my classroom. I had more than half the class stay back during lunch to paint my classroom. Some students did smaller jobs, like decorating the classroom fans with contact and I even had two students who made me a personal speaker! I LOVE it. The speaker is made from an empty can of Pringle and two paper cups. Check out the photos below. Now...it is time to enjoy the two weeks holidays! I will be trying to balance work with leisure time. First activity tonight is having a family dinner at a dumpling house before heading to the drive-through cinema with my partner and Shih Tzu.
